Updated: Nov 2, 2020

Nandini Dixit is a Climate and Environmental Justice Activist from India. She is a #StopShell Campaigner and an Activist working with us to Stop Shell from dumping it's 11,000 tonnes of oil and toxic waste in North Sea.

1. Why do you think that shell must clean up its mess?

Ans: 1) Shell must clean up its mess because Man has learn to use all the things inside the earth like oils, fossil fuels etc but they don't have a concrete way to dispose it and toxic waste must not be dumped in seas there has to be another way to dispose it oceans are not a dumping ground it belongs to aquatic life.

2. Shell is planning to jump 11000 tense of will and toxic waste in North Sea. is it ethical? if not, so tell us why?

Ans: 2) This is not ethical because dumping tonnes of oil and toxic waste in sea will harm aquatic life and Seas are the jewels due to which beauty of the earth increases and this kind of act will change the actual appearance of the sea.

3. “If today we’re allowing shell to dump its Waste in North Sea then on tomorrow another company will come with the same intention”. Do we really need to allow Shell?

Ans: 3)No matter, If the company is big or small, this type of waste will be dumped in the sea because of this the balance of the marine life is bound to deteriorate . We must not allow shell to do this as already said that oceans are not dumping ground.

4. North sea is an sea of Atlantic Ocean. Now its fisheries reserves are declining, sea level is rising, Eutrophication is on rise, oil drilling is causing pollution in the sea. Is this plan of shell will make the situation much worse?

Ans: 4)May be this is true, but it is certain that Shell does not have any other way to recycle or dump their oil and toxic waste.

5. There’s no doubt that Oceans are not our dumping ground but I think shell thinks it is a dumping ground. Do we need to tell Shell that now there’s no place for Royals in this world and everyone is equal. Rules are same for everyone? You are not allowed to dump your waste in North sea.

Ans: 5)This is correct that everyone is equal in this world but still If someone misuses it as being Royal

It is condemnable and opposed.
